Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and welcome 2014!!  I am not a huge fan of New Year’s resolutions…however, I do like to plan and dream.  In thinking about 2014 I thought I’d jot down some things I’d like to accomplish in each of the areas that Laurel and I love to research and write about….

Beauty – ok, so the years of sun worshiping and…ahem….frying, have definitely caught up to me!!!  This year is going to be all about skin care for me.  I’m looking forward to getting together with Erin from The Sparkle to find out the best skin care regime for me.

Entertaining – I do love to entertain, but I really feel like I don’t do it enough.  Laurel and I had a really fun time prepping for our Christmas Booster Brunch and we hope to put on three this year.  What could be better than getting a bunch of women together to be inspired and encouraged and eat really yummy food?!?

Please let us know if you would like to attend our next Booster Brunch and you’ll be the first to hear about it!

Fashion – it would be a dream for both Laurel and I to attend fashion shows at New York’s Fashion Week in September. This might be a long shot, but hey, why not shoot high?

Food – I really enjoy developing recipes.  Figuring out how to put together this short rib brunch dish was fun and yummy too!

I’d love to come up with a product that we could offer to our followers…maybe something with…hmmm… peppers????

Interior Design – ok, I don’t want to send Jason into cardiac arrest, but I would REALLY love to reno our kitchen.  We have been in our home for almost 12 years, and I prefer a much more clean-lined modern style kitchen with organic elements. Realistically, this may not happen in 2014, but this year I will start to plan, research, pin, and dream!  Here are four kitchens that are inspiring me…

Travel – Laurel and I have talked about writing travel guides for the cities that we love to visit, including New York, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Honolulu, Bangkok, and Orange County.  We are in the process of exploring formats and ways to offer them to our sisters.  Also, I’m looking forward to a trip to the Turks and Caicos.

Looks like 2014 is going to be a busy one for me!!

Here’s to wishing all of our sisters a very happy, healthy, successful and joy-filled 2014!
