Advent Calendars

I know that it’s a bit early to talk about Christmas, but I like to put together a December 1st gift for the kids and Jason and part of it is always an advent calendar.  You can learn more about our December 1st tradition here.  They are some awesome advent calendars out there, and some have already sold out.  So, I thought I’d give you my round up on some cool ones out there so you can pick them up before they are gone!

CHOCOLATE

Berkeley is in love with the Bright Lights Advent Calendar from Purdy’s.  The drawers are pretty cute.  And you could keep it and fill it with your own goodies next year.  They also have their take on the traditional chocolate calendar but so much better as it’s filled with their solid milk chocolate Santas and snowmen.  But don’t wait to pick up these babies…I have been told that they sell out quickly.

If you are in the Lower Mainland or Vancouver area, ChocolaTas has an advent calendar this year filled with their Belgian milk chocolates.

BEAUTY

For the nail polish lover, there is the Ciate Mini Mani Advent Calendar with 19 mini nail polishes and one full-size polish…that mani will be fresh and ready for all those Christmas and New Year’s parties.

This Sephora Winter Wonderland Calendar is filled with 24 exclusive Sephora Collection makeup, skincare, bath and body products and accessories.  And how cute is that packaging?  Currently it is only available in the US or through the US website.

This Body Shop Advent Calendar is like a three-in-one.  First, it’s filled with 25 Body Shop goodies from body and skin care to make up and accessories.  Second, it gives you a feel good action to complete every day.  I LOVE that!  And third, it turns into a trivia game to play on Christmas Day.  This calendar is sturdy and substantial and could also be refilled and reused for many years to come.

COFFEE & TEA

I am in LOVE with the packaging of David’s Tea Advent Calendar. Behind each door is a single serving of tea, plus a little something extra to open whenever you want. This gift gives all the cozy feels of Christmas!

For the coffee aficionado, Kaffe Box offers 24 advent packages of single origin specialty coffee, roasted to order by 12 Scandinavian artisan coffee roasters. In order to ship the freshest coffee possible, the calendar is sent in 3 shipments.

KIDS

When Mac was little, the Lego Advent Calendar was always on his list.  This year there are three to choose from…the City Calendar, the Star Wars Calendar and the Friends Calendar.

For young hockey fans, this Playmobil Advent Calendar is sure to be a hit (no pun intended!).  It includes two hockey figures, a Santa referee figure, two child figures, flags, goal, Stanley Cup, puck bag, reindeer, and lots of other accessories.  Once all the pieces are revealed, it’s game time!

Disney Frozen fans will love this calendar.  There are 25 collectible figures and the package opens to reveal the iconic crystal Christmas tree with the Frozen characters, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff & Sven!

Do you have a favorite advent calendar that I’ve missed?  Please let me know in the comments!
