Tomorrow we will be announcing the winner of the tickets to the Urban Market by Spruce Collective. If you haven’t entered yet, you can enter here until just before midnight! And….now we are giving away two tickets to The Fraser Valley Food Show to one of our lucky sisters! The winner will also receive two sheets of food tasting tickets valid at the Bite of the Valley and the Wine, Beer & Spirits Pavilion area and a Mott’s Clamato Caesar Starter Kit! The show will be at the Tradex in Abbotsford October 4, 5, and 6. Last year, Laurel and I attended the show and we met a number of purveyors that we have worked with and have enjoyed their products over the past year!
The 2nd annual Great Canadian Sausage-Making Competition takes place Saturday, October 5 at 11:30am and sampling tickets will be available for purchase.
The Celebrity Cooking Stage will feature Rob Feenie, Cactus Club Restaurants’ Executive Chef. I have had the pleasure of meeting Rob before and he’s a super genuine, down-to-earth guy who focuses on fresh food and great flavors! Canadian Chef Corbin Tomaszesk will also be there! He has been on several TV shows including Dinner Party Wars, Restaurant Makeover, Crash My Kitchen, and the new hit show on Food Network Canada, Restaurant Takeover. Matthew Stowe, Product Development Chef for Cactus Restaurants, winner of Season Three of Top Chef Canada will be on the stage as well!
The 11th annual Master Chef Competition finals will take place on Saturday, October 5 with 2012 champion William Tse, Executive Chef of BC Place Stadium.
There will also be “Bite/Taste” tickets available for purchase to try dishes from various restaurants as well as wine and beer tastings.
Kitchening & Company will be at the show again this year and they have some of the BEST macarons around. Try the salted caramel…you won’t be able to stop at one! They will also have gluten-free versions of their cookies available…. Ginger Chocolate Molasses (these are ridiculously good!) and Peanut Butter.
Our great friends from ChocolaTas are going to be there as well! Not only do their chocolates look like miniature works of art, but they use only the best ingredients to make such high quality chocolates. One of my faves is the lavender ganache. The show will include for the first time the Gluten-Free Living Show with many vendors and manufacturers featuring gluten-free products! So, there is something for everyone!
