Last week, Laurel posted 10 beauty buys under $10. So, I thought I should talk about some of my favorite fall beauty products too. Back in summer I talked about wearing less makeup….I’m still working on that. Calm the eye down, but for fall, balance it out with a stronger lip. Here are my go-to products right now for a fresh fall face.
Lipliner – I have been using Revlon’s ColorStay Lipliners for probably about 15 years. Why have I never talked about them? Something you take those closest to you for granted! These liners are super reasonably priced at $7.98 and come and in a good range of colors…and they do a great job of preventing feathering. They are perfect for your purse as they never need to be sharpened. Right now I’m loving “Raisin”…it’s super versatile…great with the fall’s brick red and plum lipsticks.
Lipstick – My go to this fall is a brick red lip…it’s little calmed down from fire engine red and works for everyday wear. I like the pop it gives my lips when I’m keeping my eyes more natural…and it’s moisturizing. It is available locally at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques.
Brow – I love this retractable brow pencil from Sephora. I like to just fill in my brows naturally and you can “draw” super fine hairs to create a very natural look. This pencil is waterproof and lasts all day. It comes in 7 colors. I use the “Nutmeg Brown” as it’s not too dark and works with my blond streaks.
Clear Mascara – Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara is almost iconic…it came out in 1971 and has stood the test of time. I like using the clear version to keep my brows in place once I’ve filled them in…and it’s only $6.99.
Soap – Donkey milk soap….you are probably saying, “What the heck is that?” A friend of mine went to Greece and this is a thing there. It’s a great facial cleanser and helps to clear up acne. I love that it’s not drying…it’s actually quite moisturizing…and it has anti-aging and regenerative properties. Donkey’s milk is very close to human milk and that’s the thinking behind why it works so well. You can read more about the benefits of donkey milk soap here. I ordered mine from Greece, so it took a while to get here. My recommendation is to order a few bars at a time.
Pouch – This clear pouch from Truffle is great for your purse or carry on. Love that you can see the contents, it’s wipeable, and it looks great. It comes in a variety of fun colors.
