Pantone 2015 Color of the Year – Marsala

Pantone Marsala

Each year Pantone names a color of the year.  I have to admit I wasn’t overly excited when I saw this year’s color,  Marsala.   It’s not a bright punchy color, but rather an earthly, red wine shade. Marsala is a deep plum color warmed up with chocolate undertones.  It’s actually super wearable in both clothing and make up as it complements most skin tones.  I didn’t realized it but I have a lot of in in my closet and my cosmetic bag!  And it pairs extremely well with other colors…think black, tan, navy, army green, gold and slate grey…as it can act as a neutral.  So, I actually do really like it after all!
