Summer is just around the corner, and that means it’s wedding and outdoor party season. Laurel and I headed to West Coast Gardens a few weeks ago to shoot some of our favorite looks for this summer season with Tara MacDonald.
One thing that is huge this summer is block heel sandals The sturdier heel makes them a lot more wearable. Patterns are big too! I went for stripes and Laurel went for florals. The bow detail on the sleeves of Laurel’s dress are adorable and the length is perfect for her height. I went for a jumpsuit which initially may seem like a casual choice, but it’s all about the accessories. The culotte style makes it almost look like a dress.
Keep accessories simple. Laurel and I gravitate toward beaded bracelets and pendant necklaces. I love the tassel earrings she added.
The Royal Wedding was all about hats and I love that Laurel added a straw hat. This is such a great look for an outdoor wedding!

West Coast Gardens was the perfect place to shoot these summer looks a few weeks ago. Their greenhouses were filled with customized hanging baskets. Laurel and I loved the “Cookies and Cream” baskets featuring all sorts of white flowers and many varieties of green foliage. West Coast Gardens is an awesome place to spend a morning or afternoon. You can grab a coffee there and browse through their greenhouses and their home decor section. I especially love the awesome selection of succulents they have.
