Can’t even begin to say how excited I get as spring gets into full swing. Doesn’t it feel like everything comes out of hibernation and revives back to life? I’ve been taking long walks around the farm and it’s amazing how much the landscape has changed in a few short weeks. The trees are filling back in at breakneck speed and there’s even a new smell in the air. Ok…I think you get the point. I love this rejuvenating time of year.
Speaking of the change of season, it’s time to set up your staple pieces for the next number of months. A couple of basics can take you a long way as they truly are the backbone of your wardrobe. I’ve put together three of my favourites that I know will be getting a lot of wear in the near future. I surprised myself on two counts here: First, I chose pants with pleats…say what??? I thought I’d never be wearing pleats again, but this crepe fabric drapes incredibly well and a couple of well placed pleats actually made this pant sit just right. I also like a cropped length which gives a little more air time to some fun shoes. Second, the top is a bit shorter than I normally wear. I’m a bit past the crop top age, but this one falls right at the waist line which eliminates the need to tuck any bulk into my waistband.
