We are taking a break from our Friday Find to talk a bit about Father’s Day, since it’s next weekend! I find Father’s Day tough…what to buy men…now that can be really difficult!
I saw this tee online and it made me think of Jason. I think he’s pretty super! He hauls dance props around…I’m talking an 8 foot pirate ship in a 15 foot trailer…he manages both of Mac’s hockey teams, he works hard at his “day” job that often runs into evenings and weekends, he keeps our yard perfectly manicured and he makes sure that our vehicles are sparkling clean inside and out. He puts his own interests aside so that he can support the kids and me in our dreams…yes, he’s Super Dad!
So, the kids and I have been thinking of ways that we can celebrate him and show him he’s “super” appreciated throughout next weekend. Here are some ideas that we’ve come up with. Sorry dear….it won’t be a surprise, but it gives you something to look forward to!
- get up and let the dog out and feed him
- wash and vacuum his car
- give him a back massage
- make him a triple shot cappuccino
- weed the flower beds
- get him a large banana and grape slushy..yowzer…yes, that’s his fave!
- all go for a hike or bike ride together
- sit around the fire table on the back patio as a family at sunset
I don’t know that we will be able to do all of these, but hopefully this list provides you with some inspiration for Father’s Day! What does the dad in your life enjoy? A barbecue? A foot rub? Fish and chips on the beach?? It’s really not about gifts but setting aside time and creating memories!
