Spring Must-Haves

As the days get longer and the temperature rises ever so slightly, i start getting what i call closet “cabin fever”! You know that blank stare you have as you look around your closet trying to decide what to wear? Quite frankly, my clothes are boring me right now and i’m ready to start pulling out the stuff i haven’t seen in about 6 months! Every season, i like to add a couple new pieces that both fit in with what i already have, but add some injected life and a new jump off point for the upcoming months.
Here are my must-haves for spring…

The Elements:
COLORED SKINNY JEANS, in bright tones, are everywhere! Start wearing them now, and you’ll find yourself getting appreciative smiles from those around you! Check out Roxy‘s Skinny Floods or commit fully to the trend with Joe’s Jeans.
CRISP WHITE TEE (and Michael Stars tees REALLY are the best!) is perfect for layering…under a sweater or on its own (paired with a statement necklace), invest in a couple of good quality tees that will carry you through til fall. Other options include Piperlime.com or James Perse.
STRIPED SWEATER or CARDIGAN We are loving stripes! Look for a striped sweater, that can be paired with your colored skinnies and you’re set! Shopbop and Old Navy both have a great ones.
BALLET FLATS (can’t wait to try the Toms ones) are a staple for us women on the go! Look chic and polished while still being functional! There are tons to choose from..invest in a pair of Tory Burch or go midroad with Guess or more trendy with American Eagle.
ACCESSORIES Lastly, don’t forget to accessorize!! To me it’s like adding a painting to your wall…you can have a beautiful room, but the art just brings it all together and gives it personality! Look for a metallic handbag that can be worn with just about anything. Lucky and H&M  offer great options!

All of these pieces will serve as basics from which you can build scads of outfits! I’m loving the combination of brights for the upcoming season…don’t be afraid to layer couple of colors, but stop short of looking like a pack of Skittles!
