I have to admit, when i hear the word “chambray” a little tingle goes down my spine. Visions of me in grade 9 with my chambray balloon pants, my peach Daniel Hechter sweatshirt and the matching chambray shirt underneath are still all too fresh. uggg
So when i heard chambray was making a comeback, i was leery to say the least. But after seeing some twists on the old school denim of years past, i’ve jumped on board. And what i’ve found, is that a good chambray shirt can be one of your favorite pieces, especially this time of year. Here’s my take on it:
I found my shirt at Anthropologie…what attracted me to it was the light, soft fabric (it’s tencel, which gives it a silk-like feel). I’m not into bulky, heavy button downs. I also loved the sleeve detail…i can roll it up and button it to the tab or roll it down for a full sleeve look. Because of the silky fabric, the shirt can be dressed up with a blazer, bootcut jeans and a statement pair of heels. And of course, the bling factor...a necklace with twisted crystals, pearls and rhinestones!

Throw on some skinny jeans, your chambray shirt and a warm and cozy sweater. I added my sheepskin boots, a long necklace and a punchy scarf to finish the look
I love LOVE when you can find a piece that can be dressed up, down and in between! A lightweight chambray button down can be that piece for you!! Just make sure you don’t wear it too much…that’s my struggle:) And maybe, just maybe, stay away from the chambray pants..haha!
