Ultimate Shift Dress

Shift dresses can be a woman’s best friend. Known for the column-like silhouette, the absence of a defined waist makes it an easy piece to wear…even on the days where you’re not feeling especially svelte. It’s also a great choice when you’re wanting to dress your look up without feeling uncomfortable and restricted. How can you tell my eats have caught up to me lately?? But really, this is the dress you could wear all day without counting down the minutes until you can get home and change..you all know you’ve done that!

This simple shift by Julia Koo is incredibly rich in its dark green hue as well as completely wearable in its cut and texture. I’m also a huge fan of the pockets…love that detail. The fabric is pretty special with a slight shimmer that you notice only when the light hits it right. I have a feeling i’ll be wearing this little number a bunch this fall…

Shift dresses are plentiful right now. Make sure you try a number on to find the one that fits you best. The one word of caution is that you want the cut to still flatter… make note of the length: You want it to hit just slightly above the knee. Any longer and it can appear to overwhelm and drown out your figure. Lastly, don’t give up if the first “try-on” isn’t your favourite…there are plenty to choose from. You’ll know when you’ve found the perfect one, and it will be a timeless addition to your closet! xo
