Our mom is our biggest supporter and after Lo and I posted our autumn tablescapes, she asked if we could “hook her up” and decorate her Thanksgiving table. Absolutely!!! We scanned Pinterest for inspiration and came up with a plan that involved finding a few new things, crafting a few things and reusing a few things!
Here’s the inspiration photo….

Mom and Dad have a rather large dining room table…it’s 5 feet by 10 feet, so the decorations had to be in proportion. My brother and sister-in-law will be away unfortunately. That means there will be 12 of us in total and we can all easily fit around the table.
Here’s a before shot…
In progress….We used a combination of mercury glass and metallic glass pumpkins and gourds from HomeSense, HomeOutfitters and Pier 1 Imports. Laurel sprayed gourds and mini pumpkins in silver, gold and bronze. We found the vases at HomeOutfitters in the clearance section for under $8 each!!! These can be reused for Christmas and other seasonal decor.
We were so fortunate that Mom has beautiful china by Lenox and cutlery. It went perfectly with the color scheme!
We added in a few things from my home…votive holders (these always come in handy for almost any decor!), mercury glass acorns from my Christmas decorations, silver charger plates and black stemware. The finished product….
What we really love about this table is that it shows that you can combine metals and the black gives it a touch of modern. We are so looking forward to gathering about this table at Thanksgiving….we have so very much to be thankful for!

[...] About 7 years ago, Laurel and I each bought 12 stainless steel charger plates from Linens n Things. I can’t count the number of times that we’ve used them. They nicely dress up a dinner table, we’ve used them to create centrepieces and we’ve served appies on them. The great thing is that between the two of us, we have 24, so we can use them for large parties too. We recently used them when we set up our Mom’s Thanksgiving table (click here). [...]
